Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My daughter is 1.5 years, she has squint in her left eye. Consulted an eye specialist, and he said to wear a glass of 4.0 spherical in both eyes. But she removes the specs. Consulted another doctor who prescribed +1.5 specs and said her vision number is 4, but we will gradually increase the number in months. What should I do? Please suggest how I should let my baby habituated to wearing specs. Kindly help.

Hello

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I understand your concern. If she is not removing the glasses of lesser power, it is also ok, as it can be increased gradually. She must be having alternate squinting, as it seems. The good thing is that alternate squints carry a better prognosis in terms of vision and even may not require surgery layer on and specs the answer. So do not worry too much. Try to put on glasses for as long as she can, and then gradually, she will get used to it, and she may understand the need to use glasses when the vision is unclear. Try to increase outdoor games and continue with ocular exercises as your examing doctor advises. Try it for at least one month before re-evaluation. I hope this has helped you. Thank you.
