Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I went to the dentist. I have dark brown stains on my teeth. He said it is from drinking fizzy drinks, and the only way to fix it is with veneers. Is this true?
Kindly guide.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Yes, these are now internal stains that cannot be simply removed through scaling. One of the causes for these kinds of stains is fizzy drinks, others may include taking Iron supplements for a long time, or may be due to the use of extra fluoride in water during childhood, like the use of salty water in some parts of your age, use of alcohol, smoking or tobacco. All these may lead to these internal stains.
Treatment options for these are composite veneers, like economical or veneers of zirconia, which are expensive but very good in aesthetics. No need for capping is there, as staining is just around the gum area (attachment removed to protect patient identity).
Feel free to ask if you have any further questions regarding it. Stay happy and blessed.
Thank you.
