Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

At 18, I have been dealing with numerous skin problems that have significantly affected my self-confidence and body image. One particular issue that worries me is the presence of dark stretch marks on my arms and thighs. Among them, the ones on my arms bother me the most. They extend almost up to my elbows, and this has greatly impacted my social life and overall self-esteem. I find it difficult to wear tank tops or even tops with elbow-length sleeves because I feel conscious about exposing my arms. Regardless of the weather conditions, I am forced to wear long-sleeved clothing, causing physical discomfort and mental distress. Despite trying various remedies, such as oils and creams, I have not experienced any improvement in the appearance of my stretch marks. However, I am currently using shea butter, hoping to find relief. In the past, I have also tried using products like Bio-oil and Funbact-A and even explored herbal remedies, but unfortunately, none of them have yielded positive results. I need assistance, and any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Welcome to iCliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Skin treatments often require a significant amount of time, usually up to six months, before noticeable differences can be observed. In many cases, a combination cream specifically designed for localized application can be beneficial. For treatment, I suggest you use a cream containing 10 percent Lactic Acid and 0.1 percent Retinol. It can help lighten the skin. This combination cream is particularly effective in addressing issues related to darkened and hardened skin in areas such as the neck, nape, thighs, elbows, knees, knuckles, and back. It is advisable to consult a dermatologist to identify the cause of skin darkening and seek their guidance on the appropriate course of action.

I hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.

Regards.
