Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have swollen, red and sensitive eyes since several months. I have used 1 % Tetracycline ointment twice for seven days and a seven-day treatment with Augmentin 500 mg twice a day. The condition seems to be re-appearing again. I feel no improvement in the condition. I have been using Amlodipine, Lisinopril, Eliquis, Metoprolol, and Metformin. Would you mind giving me your opinion on this? Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Thanks for writing in, and I understand your concern. It seems like you are suffering from blepharitis. It is a basic infection of glands associated with eyelashes. I would advise you to follow this treatment plan. Maintain eyelid hygiene, use a mild shampoo mixed with two parts water, mix and make froth, apply this froth on eyelashes and wipe with clean tissue paper after some time. Use a warm compress on your lids to resolve the swelling. Continue using Co-Amoxiclav 500 mg for seven days.Use tablet Ibuprofen 400 mg three times daily for seven days for the swelling and pain. Use Tobramycin eye drops four times daily. Apply Polyfax (Polymyxin B sulphate and Bacitracin Zinc) eye ointment three to four times daily on eyelashes and surrounding skin of your eye. I hope this helps. Regards.
