Patient's Query

Hi,

I was wondering if you could consult me about an ointment. Is Eczemus (Tacrolimus) 0.03 % ointment safe for eye treatment?

Answered by Dr. Zahid Malik

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern. Tacrolimus 0.03 % is used for allergic conjunctivitis treatment. It is an alternative to steroids and antiallergic drugs, but they are safer than steroids. It is also used in multiple other indications but most commonly in allergic conjunctivitis and after the corneal graft. Possible side effects of tacrolimus after long-term use are loss of eyelashes or eyebrows, twitching of the eye, facial swelling, tiredness and difficulty breathing. These are some main side effects of the ocular use of tacrolimus. In case of further queries, you can ask me. Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
