Why is my testicular pain getting worse over time?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have testicular pain. It started three days ago with mild pain in my left testicle while I was bathing. I did a small jump at that time, and after that, the pain continued for days.

Yesterday, I masturbated once, and I felt more pain after that, although I was still able to do my daily activities. Today, the situation has worsened, and now both testicles are painful.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query and understand your concern.

I am deeply concerned about your worries. I am really glad you said this out loud. Testicular pain can have various causes, including injury, infection, inflammation, or other underlying conditions.

Understanding the exact reason often requires careful evaluation and attention to symptoms over time.

In the meantime, you can try some simple self-care measures that may help relieve discomfort while monitoring your condition closely:

  • Rest and avoid activities that worsen the pain, as continued strain may increase discomfort and delay recovery.
  • Apply a cold compress to the affected area to reduce inflammation and help soothe the pain.
  • Wear supportive underwear or a scrotal support to provide stability and reduce unnecessary movement.
  • Avoid any further trauma or strain to the testicles, as this could aggravate the condition.
  • You may take Paracetamol 500 mg (milligrams) twice a day, as needed, for pain relief.

Additionally, it is important to get an ultrasound of the lower abdomen and scrotum and share the reports for proper assessment. Early evaluation will help guide further management.

I hope you are satisfied with my answer. For further queries, you can consult me at iCliniq.

Thank you.
