Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 28-year-old male. I have had itching in my groin and buttock area for a month. Two months ago, I was diagnosed with tinea cruris; however, it was cured after taking the tablet Itraconazole 200 mg, cream Luliconazole, Clotrimazole powder, and Miconazole 2 % cream. For my current infection, I have been prescribed tablet Terbinafine, Luliconazole ointment, and tablet Atarax for 14 days. However, the infection is persisting. Last time, the fungal test was positive but not this time. Should I change the medicines?
Kindly suggest.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have reviewed your complaints and the attached photographs (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). It looks like tinea, which is a fungal infection. I would recommend you take oral and topical antifungals.
Consult a specialist doctor, talk to him or her, and start the medicines with their consent.
I hope this helps.
Take care.
