I have tinnitus with hearing loss. What can help me?
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have bilateral tinnitus combined with hearing loss, and I am looking for an opinion on what I should try. It has been the same, if not increasingly worse, for the last two to three years. I have attached a hearing test and a zip file with my CT scan.
I have tried Betahistine, which did not help, and Ginkgo biloba did not either. I do not really know what else to try, and no doctors seem to be able to help either.
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Considering the test results, the best decision is to go for a digital computerized hearing aid with a tinnitus masker. For tinnitus, avoid caffeinated drinks and use the tinnitus relief application, which has many modulated sounds to mask the ringing.
The ringing sound you are experiencing is likely a sign of hearing loss and is permanent, as it has been present for two to three years. Let us have a video consultation session so I can take your case history and provide more specific recommendations.
I hope you are satisfied with my answer. For further queries, feel free to reach out to me anytime.
Thank you.
