Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I want to know about tooth replacement. One of my teeth is almost completely decayed. I want a new artificial tooth there. I want to get it replaced, I mean a new tooth there. What is the procedure?

Answered by Dr. Ummah Mohammad

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I am glad to know that you are conscious about tooth replacement and that is a good thing that there is awareness. There are 2 ways you can get it replaced after extraction.

  1. Prosthodontic crown and bridge - It is a budget-wise option you can opt for but the thing is for the replacement of one tooth. But you need at least support in this case hence a total of three teeth capping will be done.

  2. Another option is implant - Implant generally goes a bit costlier but you do not have to include adjacent teeth in this case, single tooth replacement can be placed with the support of screw insertion.

I hope this helps. Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

So if I want to go for implants, what is the rough cost estimate, and how many sittings would be needed for that?

Answered by Dr. Ummah Mohammad

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It may take 3 to 4 sittings. The first sitting will be of X-ray and extraction. After that, you will be called for follow-up after it heals fully. After complete healing, it may take 2 to 3 sittings or it may depend upon the procedure in your area. Likewise, rate also differs from place to place so it is advisable for you to check in and around your area with 3 to 4 dentists and then proceed with a better option.

I hope this helps. Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I wanted to know the rough timeline.

Answered by Dr. Ummah Mohammad

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

10 days will be very less for the full procedure because your dentist may do it in fast fast-forward method but I would suggest you to go for this procedure only if you have up to 20 days. The extraction site must heal properly before screw insertion. Otherwise prosthodontic crown and bridge is not a bad option, you also have different options in this, good zirconia crown can also be placed at good rates and have a guarantee period as well.

I hope this helps. Thank you.
