Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have pain in the second tooth from my wisdom tooth. I have the pain for a month. I want to pull it or remove it. But I am scared. I gave birth to my child before six months through C-section. Is there any other option available to remove the tooth? Does it cause any effect on breastfeeding?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your question, (attachment removed to protect patient identity) and I can understand your concern. You have a grossly decayed infectious tooth which needs removal. Visit a dentist soon and remove it promptly. It does not affect your breastfeeding. You can avoid taking too much of painkillers and medications prescribed by the doctor. Dental extraction is a simple procedure, and there is no issue to be afraid of it. In case, if you do not want to get it removed, then you can take Amoxicillin 500 mg for five days, and it will treat your infection. I suggest you get it removed if it is so grossly decayed, or root canaled.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
