Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am suffering from severe pain near the third molar teeth. It feels sore and has a bluish discoloration. I have not taken any medications for the pain; however, I was on treatment for piles and liver infection.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I understand your concern.

Pain in the third molar region could be due to various reasons. The excruciating pain could be due to a hidden decay in the tooth and food impaction near the third molars. The bluish discoloration indicates a possibility of swelling. I suggest you to follow a few instructions mentioned below.

  1. Visit a nearby dentist immediately and get the tooth checked with a small X-ray imaging of the region.
  2. Gargle with warm salt water thrice daily to reduce the soreness.
  3. Take tablet Paracetamol (anti-inflammatory) 500 mg thrice daily for three days for pain relief. Kindly consult a specialist, talk to them and take the medication with their consent.

I hope this has helped you.

Thank you.
