Hello doctor,
Today after a meal I had some food particles stuck in my top molar all the way in the back. I took my toothbrush and tried to scrub it out real well to get it. While brushing, I put the toothbrush real far back into my mouth to really try and clean that last molar. In the process, I jabbed the back of my mouth behind the molar a few times. A few times while brushing the underside of my tooth and going straight back and a few times brushing the outside of the tooth and accidentally pushing it further past the teeth. What is back there? And can hitting it a bunch of times cause any medical issues? I am a little worried.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have been through your query and as far as I understood I came to a conclusion that if you go far behind your teeth bearing area there is hard and soft tissue which you may injure yourself. The region behind your third molar is:
In case you push your toothbrush far behind, you may injure your soft tissue that may result in some feeble pain and a white spot appearance. In that case get a Dologel (Choline salicylate) ointment if it hurts. If it does not hurt, let it be as it is and it will heal within five days without any medication.
