Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a mother of a 3.5-month-old baby girl. Instead of a government hospital, I choose her vaccination in a private hospital. I want to know if this is worth paying so much for vaccination or if these private doctors are making us fools. Please reply.

Thanks.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Vaccines prevent diseases. Many vaccines are made compulsory even by the government. Some vaccines, due to production or cost issues, are not. But if you want your child to get protection for some diseases which are not specified in the government forms, it is your decision, and doctors give you the option. Please know that doctors do not decide the cost, but the vaccine companies which produce them. The doctor is responsible for telling you, and you choose to vaccinate your child. Different vaccine companies come with additional costs, which, again, the doctor cannot decide. Please know the cost of vaccines you buy at the pharmacy or the doctor. Some vaccines are combination vaccines that offer fewer pricks for the baby.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.
