Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My baby got vaccinated today with OPV, Penta 2, and IPV, and my wife also got herself a rabies vaccine. Can she breastfeed?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Yes, it is safe to breastfeed after anti-rabies vaccination. The baby is also vaccinated with Penta so that he might get a fever as an immune response.

I suggest giving a tablet Paracetamol 6.80 mg per lb for 24 hours post-vaccination. However, please consult a physician, discuss with them and start taking the medications with their consent.

I also suggest applying ice at the injection site.

I hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

My baby got vaccinated with the Penta vaccine one week back. Unfortunately, the injection site is swollen with pus discharge. What should I do?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

If there is a pus accumulation, it suggests a local infection or cellulitis. So I suggest you consult a physician immediately. But do not worry; it is curable and does not have long-term complications.

I hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
