Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 24-year-old sexually active female. I have small swellings in my vagina for three months along with cottage cheese-like discharge. I have no pain or itching. The discharge increases on the day after having sex.

Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

Normal vaginal discharge during ovulation is clear and stretchy. After ovulation, the discharge is non-smelly and white in color. You must differentiate whether the discharge you are having is normal or not. If there is an infection the discharge becomes excessive and smelly. In case of infection, I would suggest you take a proper antibiotic course as suggested by your specialist doctor.

To avoid infections, I would suggest you keep your genital area clean and dry, change undergarments twice a day, wash your genitals with soft cleansers, and after urination wash your genitals with water and dry it properly.

I hope this information helps you.

Thank you.
