Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My aunt is 50 years old. She has a condition of bluish black nerves on the back of her legs under the knees. I have attached the photo of her legs. This issue started a while back, and it has got worse now. She cannot stand for long even if she needs to. While walking, she can feel like something struck from calves to the hips. The pain is getting worse. Please help us.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It appears to be a case of varicose veins, which is more common in individuals engaged in occupations that involve prolonged standing, such as teachers and conductors. There also seems to be a superimposed infection in this case. It's worth noting that varicose veins can rarely be associated with intra-abdominal pathology like an abdominal mass. Diagnostic investigations to be done include ultrasonography of the abdomen and a Doppler study of the lower limb vessels. The primary consideration for this case is varicose veins, and the recommended course of action is surgery or vein stripping to address the varicose veins.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
