Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been having ectopic heartbeats for quite a while now. I got an echo, ECG, Holter and stress test, and all are fine. Holter showed mostly PAC but also a few PVC. But the thing is that I sometimes have trigeminy or quadrigeminy episodes. They can go for a few seconds to almost an hour sometimes. I do not have any other symptoms like dizziness, shortness of breath, etc. Is it something to worry about, and can I exercise? Please let me know. Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. Most of the time PACs (premature atrial contractions) and PVCs (premature ventricular contractions) are normal. Your echocardiography is normal, so most likely, ectopic beats are regular. Caffeine and anxiety precipitate premature beats. Avoid these things. If you have a feeling of palpitations, then you may take Bisoprolol 2.5 mg daily once. Consult your specialist doctor, talk with them, and take the medications with their consent. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
