Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My daughter had a very high viral fever. We started giving her Amoxycillin and Meftal after consultation with a doctor. Her CRP levels are also increased. Why so?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern.

A high fever in children is a common symptom of a viral infection and is usually not a cause for concern, as long as it is managed properly. Amoxicillin (antibiotic) is commonly used to treat bacterial infections, while Meftal (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) is a medication that helps to reduce fever and pain. However, raised CRP (C-reactive protein) levels can indicate that there is inflammation in your daughter's body. This is due to the viral infection she has. So, I suggest you monitor your daughter's fever and ensure that she is getting plenty of rest and fluids. If her fever persists or she develops any new symptoms, I suggest you consult the specialist immediately.

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
