Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Lately, I have been noticing a preoccupation with my eyes and visual perception. It is as if my thoughts are constantly centered around my eyes. I am finding it difficult to shift my focus from this aspect, and this has been causing me a certain level of distress. While I am uncertain about the reasons behind this, I believe it is essential to address these feelings and gain a better understanding of what might be going on.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

The symptoms suggest altered mental functions, especially vision. You are also experiencing confusion and visual hallucinations. The conditions could be,

1. Early onset of Alzheimer's disease.

2. Ischemic dementia.

3. Diffuse cerebral atrophy.

4. Metabolic encephalopathy.

5. Damage of frontal and parietal lobe (traumatic/tumor/ischemic/auto-immune/age related/degenerative).

6. Multivitamin deficiency like B12, folic acid, vitamin E.

7. Thyroid dysfunction (hypothyroidism).

8. Psychological illness like depression or psychosis.

Is there any history of mental stress? Please ask your neurologist to check for higher mental functions like memory, judgment ability, language, empathy, thought process, abstract thinking, and all. It will confirm the degree of problems.

If you have any doubts, do let me know.

Thanks and regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
