Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have a query regarding TSH readings. I need consultation and diagnosis. I also want to inquire about follow-up.
Kindly help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understood your concern.
From what you have mentioned and attached (attachments removed to protect the patient’s identity), it appears that your thyroid function is within normal range. You have low vitamin D levels that need correction with vitamin D (Cholecalciferol) 50,000 units once a week for six weeks, followed by 800 units once daily.
You have polycystic ovaries, which need to be followed by a gynecologist. Here are my suggestions:
You can check your LH (luteinizing hormone), FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone), and testosterone levels to be sure.
You have iron deficiency anemia, for which you take 210 mg Ferrous Fumarate once daily.
Include green leafy vegetables in your diet.
You have slightly high cholesterol levels, for which you need to have a low-fat diet.
Moderate exercise is recommended. I am not aware of whether you have any past medical conditions that I should be aware of.
I would suggest repeating your lipid profile in six months. You have mild fatty liver. You need to be careful about having fatty foods, maintain good physical exercise, and avoid alcohol if at all possible.
If you have a heavy menstrual cycle secondary to polycystic ovarian disease, please follow up with your gynecologist, as it can cause low hemoglobin.
I hope that this answers your query.
Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.
Thank you.
