Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 24-year-old woman diagnosed with vitamin D deficiency, with my levels at 7.9. After a year of medication, my vitamin D level has only slightly increased to 8.9. Why is this happening, and what should I do?
I have been experiencing severe back pain and widespread bone pain. Recently, I have also started having irregular periods. My current medication includes Pure D3 (60,000 IU). I also have low hemoglobin and a high RBC count.
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
Based on your vitamin D deficiency, I recommend taking an injection of Arachitol (vitamins) six lakh units intramuscularly once a month, followed by vitamin D 6000 IU (international units) daily, along with calcium 500 mg (milligrams) for one month. After completing this regimen, repeat your vitamin D test and further treatment will depend on the updated levels.
I would also like to know if you are experiencing any other symptoms or health concerns. I generally recommend treatment based on symptoms and physical examination to ensure the most appropriate approach.
This treatment plan is provided to help assess whether the initial management of your vitamin D deficiency was adequate.
Kindly consult a physician, discuss with them, and start taking the medications with their consent.
I hope I have answered your question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards.
