What is the remedy for whiteheads and enlarged facial pores?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had acne for some time during school period and now have scares from the acne. The scarring left enlarged pores as well. The pores have whiteheads, and my nose has a lot of blackheads as well. My skin is oily in some places like the nose but dry around the cheeks. I was wondering what I should do to get rid off the whiteheads as well as reduce the number of enlarged pores. What treatment should I follow to get rid off the blackheads? I have already used many face washes with blackhead erasing ability, but none of them worked.

Hi,

I am glad you chose icliniq for your medical-related queries.

I understand your concern and will try to help you with it.

I have gone through your case. The best treatment for acne scar is CO2 (carbon dioxide) laser. No cream will benefit you for the scar. For shiny skin, apply Vitamin C serum at night. For blackhead apply Adapalene gel only on blackhead and whitehead with a toothpick in the minimal amount on lesion at night for 20 minutes only. If you take too much, you will have a burning sensation.

Thank you for consulting me.

You can always reach me at icliniq.com.
