Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

When I pulled back the skin of my penis, I saw a different color. It is not like smegma and also not like a layer. It was like natural skin color. Some parts are red, as usual, and some are dry white. I cannot explain exactly, but the color is different at the tip. Is it an infection or any disease? How can it get cured? Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Please attach clinical pictures to assess so I can guide you accordingly. Meanwhile, wash the area with a gentle cleanser daily for one month.

Hope this helps.

Thanks and take care.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

I have uploaded the pictures. Kindly look into them. The pictures show the color change on the tip of my penis.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

It is balanitis caused due to improper hygiene, scratching and rubbing infective cause (fungal infection), or allergic reaction due to irritant soap or exposure to chemicals. Skin discoloration, irritation, dry foreskin, inflammation, or redness are signs and symptoms of balanitis.

1. Practice good hygiene.

2. Avoid scented soaps and lotions. Instead, use neutral non-soap cleansers, such as Episoft cleanser or No soap cleanser, daily for one month.

3. Always clean the glans penis after retracting the foreskin.

4. Wash with warm water.

5. Dry the area after cleaning. Avoid moisture, as moisture favors fungal growth.

6. Practice safe sex. Use barriers and always wash your private areas after sexual intercourse.

7. Apply Clotrimazole cream at night for two weeks. Take the tablet Levocetirizine 5 mg at night after food for seven days (if itching) and the tablet Fluconazole 150 mg once daily after dinner for three days. However, please consult a physician, discuss with them, and start taking the medications with their consent.

Hope this helps.

Thanks and take care.
