Can wisdom teeth cause jaw pressure and headaches?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have problems with my wisdom teeth for a while now. But since a month I got it worse and I feel a strong pressure throughout my jaw, headaches and problem sleeping.

I really need to take them out. My question is that I am really afraid about nerve damage from the procedure. How would you rate the risk of that and if it would happen what can be done about it and in what time frame would that have to be done?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and also seen the attached X-ray. As a specialist, I am ready to help you. Yeah as you have all four third molar impacted I can understand how painful it can be and the level of uncomfortable state you are at. Kindly do not worry so-much any successful clinician is well accustomed with the third molar procedures and easily carry out without any post operative complication. But to be on safe side and to avoid any complications you can have two extractions or one extraction at a time. That way the risk is minimized to very low or null point.

What happens is the nerve damage you are talking about can be associated with any tooth as the nerve pass below the root. So thinking about it is useless as thousand of people are getting extraction every day. No fear of nerve damage if you delay the procedure. One-thing I would like to add to ease your worry is that no procedure can be carried out if you are in pain. So, here is what I advice you, I am writing you a prescription get those medicines and take as I have advised.

Your pain and discomfort will be in control (take for a month). Trust is the most important thing. So kindly follow:

Capsule Sporidex (Cephalexin) 500 mg, one capsule twice daily after meal for five days. Tablet Zerodol SP (Aceclofenac, Paracetamol, and Serratiopeptidase) one tablet twice daily after meal for five days. Capsule Pan D (Pantoprazole and Domperidone) one capsule twice daily before meal for five days. Betadine mouthwash, gargle in lukewarm water two to three times a day. Avoid sticky or sweet food. Brush twice. These medicines are enough for you.

I hope this has helped you. Please feel free to reach me again, in case of further queries.

Thank you.

Thank you.
