What causes a white lump near a wisdom tooth?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I refused to get my wisdom teeth taken out, and now there is a tiny white lump next to my bottom left wisdom tooth that feels like the meat moving out of the way for another tooth, but it just looks like a white bump. Is this a sign of something serious? Please advise.
