Can wisdom teeth be removed under general anesthesia?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

A piece of my wisdom tooth broke this morning when I was eating chewing gum. I did not see any browning of the tooth. Will I be able to get it removed under general anesthesia instead of the local anesthesia because I have a huge phobia of the dentist and the dental procedures?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

There is absolutely no need to worry. I would not suggest a general anesthesia for teeth-related problems. You can safely undergo tooth removal under local anesthesia without any pain. I suggest you see some good and experienced dentist as he will do the job easily and you will get surprised by how painless the procedure is.

Hope I have clarified your query.

Thank you.
