Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I am deeply concerned about your symptoms.

This appears to be a typical yeast infection, also called vulvovaginal candidiasis. The common symptoms include thick white discharge like cottage cheese, intense itching, redness, swelling, and a burning sensation, especially during urination or sex. If these are your symptoms and there is no strong, bad odor and no green or gray discharge, then it is likely a yeast infection.

You usually do not need a prescription. You can buy over-the-counter antifungal treatments such as miconazole vaginal cream (2% Miconazole nitrate) for three or seven days or Clotrimazole vaginal cream for three or seven days. Insert the cream at night before bed for the full number of days, even if symptoms improve. If you prefer a single-dose oral treatment, doctors prescribe Fluconazole 150 mg once, but that requires a prescription in many places. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with them, and take the medicines with their consent.

Skip soap inside the vagina. Skip tight underwear too. Keep the area dry as much as you can.

See a doctor right away if this is your first infection and you're not sure what's going on, if the pain is severe, if you have fever or pelvic pain, if there's a strong odor, if you're pregnant, if things aren't improving after treatment, or if these infections keep coming back.

Tell me exactly what symptoms you are having so I can help determine whether it sounds like a yeast infection and not something else, like bacterial vaginosis or an STI (sexually transmitted infection).

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.
