What changes occur in stool frequency after proctocolectomy?

Hello doctor,

I had proctocolectomy surgery one year back. It has been five months to ileostomy closure surgery. My daily stool frequency is nine to 10 times daily. The stool is not hard one. I am having a lot of burning inside and outside of the anus. There is no pain but there is itching and burning on my anus area. I am very much panicked. Is it a sign of hemorrhoids or something else?

How to manage fatty liver?

Hi doctor,

I had diarrhea for about 20 days. After I got recovered, my doctor advised me to do an MRI of the abdomen. These were the results shown. There was a mild signal drop noted in the liver on the T2 fat sequence suggesting a fatty infiltration. My pancreatic head and uncinate appeared normal. Distal body and tail showed a fatty replacement. Kindly advise.

What is the root cause of pancreas problem in a 17-year-old?

Hello doctor,

I herewith attach the medical reports of my son aged 17 years old who had a pancreas problem. He does not have any bad habits. He is taking medicine as per the doctor's advise. Mild home food is being given. But still now and then he reports mild stomach pain. Kindly clarify the following:

  1. What is the root cause of this pancreatic problem?
  2. How long we should give them mild food and when can we give him normal food?
  3. Whether the mild stomach pain he reports is normal or any further investigation is needed?
  4. Whether it is completely curable?
  5. What is the home remedy?

We are very much worried since he is very young. When he gets mild stomach pain he gets disturbed. Kindly advice. Currently, he is taking Bronac and Panlipase twice daily.

How can anal fissure be treated?

Hello doctor,

Six months ago, I faced anal fissure problem, which resolved through diet and medicine. One month ago due to constipation, bleeding started during the passing of stool. Now one inner hemorrhoid has protruded about 0.3 inches in size in the anal area. This creates pain for six hours after the passage of stool.

Please suggest treatment.

I am diagnosed with external anal fissure. Please let me know the remedy for this.

Hello doctor,

I was diagnosed with an external anal fissure. Initially, I was prescribed Hydrocortisone cream and Lidocaine or Nifedipine gel. This did give me some relief, but it did not completely heal the fissure. Later, I was prescribed the Ciplox-TZ tablet with the SN plus 15, along with Duphalac Fibre (a five-day course for tablets). This completely healed the fissure. This was six months ago. Recently, I have been experiencing slight trouble when passing stool and then some burning sensation in the anal area. This is due to a hard bowel movement. There is no blood in the stool, and I do not feel any fissures. Should I take one more course on the Ciplox TZ and SN Plus 15? I am currently applying the Lidocaine/ Nifedipine gel and taking Linzess tablet 30 minutes prior to breakfast (to induce soft bowel). Appreciate it if you could let me know the remedy for this. I have read that cow ghee is also a good option in addition to hot sitz baths.
