Will removing premolars for braces change my facial profile?

Hello, Welcome to icliniq.com. I have looked at your pictures and X-rays (attachment removed to protect patient identity). You seem to have some crowding and a forward upper molar with mismatched midlines. Your orthodontist has decided to remove your upper right second premolar, and upper left first premolar due to the asymmetric bite. At this preliminary level, I will have to agree with your orthodontist's decision.

Shall I try oil pulling for gum pockets?

Hi, Welcome to icliniq.com. Oil pulling is a method that removes toxins from the oral cavity and reduces the chances of plaque formation. Although there are no confirmed reports. However, oil pulling cannot remove existing plaque and tartar, especially that is deeper into gums, ultimately giving rise to gum pockets. Is mild molar movement common after orthodontic braces?

Hello, Welcome to Icliniq.com. Some wobbling or gentle movement on certain teeth can sometimes be expected during orthodontic treatment. However, the red patch on your mucosa or gums needs to be explained (attachment removed to protect patients identity). I need a few answers before we proceed further. Are the white flecks or spots ulcers, granules, or discharge? How long has it been there? Is it increasing? Was there any change in the appearance? Did you experience toothbrush trauma, or was it after eating spicy food or fruit? Do you experience any pain when biting or eating hard foods? Is there any sensitivity? If there is pain, can you describe the type of pain, whether it is generalised, localised, sharp, or dull?? Also, I suggest you get an X-ray done.

How to get rid of uncomfortable veneer retainers?

Hi, Welcome to icliniq.com. The reason why you are experiencing this is probably because of your retainer. Your retainer might be active or tight, which exerts a force on your teeth when you wear it. When the force is removed, the teeth does move very minutely, which is imperceptible sometimes. When you wear it full time, the force is never released from the tooth, and so the tooth might only move when you remove the retainer.
