Does the rheumatoid arthritis pain increase after delivery?

Hi, Welcome to icliniq.com. Rheumatoid arthritis flare (increase in disease activity) usually occurs after delivery. It is pretty common to have joint pain and swelling after delivery. Since you have a two-month-old baby, the first-line medication of RA, Folitrax (Methotrexate), is contraindicated. Please do one marker of inflammation, ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate), and CRP (C-reactive protein).

My grandmother has hand and shoulder pain. Is it because of taking two medications for gout?

Hi,Welcome to icliniq.com.Her symptoms are not related to gout or it can be due to chronic tophaceous gout. She can also have CTS (carpal tunnel syndrome) or a flare of RA (rheumatoid arthritis). If the symptoms are more in the early morning and then decreases gradually, then it can be due to RA. If the symptoms get aggravated in the night, then it can be more likely due to CTS.
