Can disc bulge and elevated ESR indicate autoimmunity?
Hello doctor,
My friend has a disc bulge and lipping osteophytes. She is using a belt now to support her back. She is now experiencing continuous pain, though not unbearable. When she had the blood reports, her erythrocyte sedimentation rate is 40 mm/hr and her SGPT is 38 U/L, both above the reference levels. It is suspected that she has disc degeneration because of auto-immunity by some doctors. Can you please look at her reports and let me know the actual scenario of her health and what are her health implications in the future? I am about to marry her and is hesitating because of her health condition. Please let me know about her present health by looking at the MRI scan of the spine and the blood reports. Her CRP is normal.

I have a congenital malformation of the L5 lamina, retrolisthesis and spondylitis.Please advice.
Hello doctor,
I am a 31 year old male, 6 feet tall, and I weigh 215 pounds. Based upon an MRI scan 3 years ago, I have a congenital malformation of the L5 lamina, retrolisthesis and spondylitis. Degenerative disc in L3 L4 and L5 S1, slight curvature is seen in my neck. For the most part it is a nuisance that I tolerate. I went through pain management for a while, but could not afford the 200 plus medicines every month. Recently however the left side of my head and neck feel as if it has been caved in with a bat. No relief, no abation, just constant pain. As of last night, laying on my back causes both of my hands to go numb and a pain in my groin shooting to the back of my right leg has presented itself. I am no stranger to pain, but my day to day pain has elevated from a score of 6/10 to 8/10 and is pushing me to the edge of my endurance.

I get shooting pain in lower back and buttocks. Does it need chiropractic treatment?
Hello doctor,
I am a 31-year-old male. I currently have unbearable pain in my lower back and buttocks area. Every time I get up, the pain gets much worse and feel shooting pain down my leg, which gets me to a point that I have to pause two to five seconds. I went to a chiropractor yesterday and he wants me to go for treatment. It is a bit pricey at this point. I do have images of the x-rays and will upload them once I submit my query.

What are the side effects of biocell collagen in treating osteoarthritis?

My mother is 66 years old, weighed 70 kg, and has a height of 5.1 feet. She has knee osteoarthritis, for which she is taking Freeflex forte thrice daily. She has osteoporosis and takes Supracal pro-1 (calcium citrate, D3, and bone minerals). She has trigeminal neuralgia and takes Lyrica 75 mg, Tegretol CR 400mg, and Symbol 30 once daily. For her urinary incontinence, she takes Tropan 5 mg and Cranpac. I learned of a biocell collagen product from chicken sternal cartilage, which contains collagen type 2. Is this product safe? Are there any side effects? Can my mother take it for her osteoarthritis? If so, what dose? Please help.
