Hello doctor,

My son is almost 2 years old, and I want to ensure he has a healthy diet to help him gain some weight. Despite being a bit skinny, he is a very active baby. Can you please suggest some superfoods that I can incorporate into his diet to promote his overall health?

Thank you.

Is frequent vomiting and slowed growth due to a GI issue?

Hi doctor,

My son is five years old. He has been having severe vomiting after meals since he was an infant. At about one year of age, the vomiting slowed to about three times a week, which is how frequent he vomits now. He is in the third percentile for height 39 inches at five years and weighs 27 pounds. He has been seen by an endocrinologist, and all blood work came back fine. GI did a stool sample, and that was normal. But, he is always vomiting when he tries to eat a reasonable portion of food. He often refuses to eat with the fear of vomiting. His doctor recommended rice on bottle and it did not help. The doctor just wants to do bone scans of his hand repeatedly, but I think it is a GI issue causing the vomiting and slowed growth. He has no other health problems outside of the delayed growth and vomiting. Please help. I have three other kids that are at the 97th percentile height and at least 50 percentile weight.

Are Infants with high bilirubin at risk of cerebral palsy?

Hello doctor,

I was recently blessed with a baby boy. This week, I just took him to the hospital to check if he had jaundice, as he seemed too sleepy and the bilirubin levels came to 21.80 on the eighth day. I do not know at which rate the levels were being raised. The doctor immediately put him under phototherapy. I read at a lot of places that bilirubin levels above 20 are at greater risk of cerebral palsy or brain damage. I am too concerned about it. Could you please tell me about this in a little detail? How late are we in the treatment? Is he already at risk of above concerns?
