Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
This query is about my 4-year-old daughter who has been getting a fever for the last 12 days. I went to four doctors, since we were traveling to my hometown, we went to two doctors there, and both gave paracetamol and antibiotics. On the eighth day when we returned to the city, the new doctor gave us allergy medicine and paracetamol and suggested a urine test and which showed a protein trace and nitrite positive. So the infection is there and we started with the urinary tract infection medicines last week, but still she is getting a fever at least twice a day (99 to 101 F), with no other complaints. I am seriously worried, please let me know if there is anything that is concerning. The culture test is done, waiting for the report.
Thank you.

Thank you for stopping by!

Give paracetamol every fourth hour along with sponging the whole body with lukewarm water. Give ORS (oral rehydration solution) and lots of fluids to drink. Change the antibiotics according to the culture report if required.
I hope your query got resolved.
Please feel free to reach me again, in case of further queries.
Thank you.
