Does miscarriage affect fertility?

Hi doctor,

I am a 36 year old male and my wife is 31 years old. We got married before two years and had not planned for pregnancy. My wife's medical history is as follows. Two years before her thyroid level was near 18 and she took regular medicine. Now her thyroid level came down between 2 and 3 after taking thyroid medicine of 75 mcg. Before a year, she had severe body pain. So, we consulted an orthopedician and he recommended some test to rule out vitamin D deficiency. By taking three doses of vitamin D injections we managed the vitamin D level. At the same time, she had severe knee pain and the doctor confirmed her CMP. For this she took knee pain injections and some physiotherapy exercises.

We had planned for pregnancy before one year. Then, unfortunately she got a miscarriage and started taking Folic acid after consulting her gynecologist. As per doctor's advice we planned for conception before two months. But, the problem is after miscarriage she is getting abdomen pain at the time of ovulation. Before four to five months, she got the pain during ovulation for around three to four days. Since we had planned for conception, she is getting severe pain in her abdomen and back pain until her cycle around 14 to 15 days. Every time when we consult gynecologist, she used to take transvaginal ultrasound and reported no problem in her ovaries, fallopian tubes and uterus. But, the doctor mentioned that she has polycystic ovary. As her cycles are regular there is no need to worry about it. She has severe pain from 15 days of her ovulation, but could not find out the reason. Please help us.

Two consecutive miscarriages have greatly disappointed the family. What to do next?

Hello doctor,

I am writing for my daughter, who is staying away from us with her husband. She is 30 years, 5 feet 1 inch, and 138 lbs in weight. She has been married for the last three years and has been seriously trying for conception for a year. She missed her period once at the beginning of this year. During her obstetrics consultation, beta hCG was done. It was repeated after two days. A transvaginal ultrasound scan was done and repeated after 10 days. The end result was diagnosed as a blighted ovum. So, it was evacuated by D and C.

Our daughter is of normal build and nutrition. Her menstrual history was normal since the beginning in terms of cycle, duration, and flow. But, one month after D and C, she did not have her period. On the doctor's advice, she took some medicines, and bleeding occurred. She was known to be hypothyroid. So, she was taking Thyroxin 50 mg or 75 mg to keep the TSH near about 2.5 mU/mL. Her Hb % and sugar are within the normal range.

Again, she tried to conceive three months ago along with Aspirin and folic acid. She missed her period last month. Her beta hCG was 9.20 mIU/ mL. It was repeated after two days. It came down to 1 mIU/mL, suggestive of 'chemical pregnancy. This time, after a few days, spontaneous jelly-like bleeding occurred for two days. I would like to add that her husband requires to take Penegra 50 mg tab before a performance. Our daughter is immunized with triple antigen, polio, MMR, chickenpox, and hepatitis B vaccine in childhood. The transvaginal scan (done at a later phase of the first conception) showed a normal anatomical and physiological pattern of the ovary and uterus to me at least (report attached). Two consecutive miscarriages brought great disappointment to all. Presently, the doctor told her to take Aspirin 150 mg, folic acid, and a Vitamin B12 combination tablet and to try for pregnancy again. I want your valuable opinion regarding subsequent management or the right line of treatment and suggestions or tests (if any) to get a successful pregnancy and healthy baby.

My pubic area smells terrible. Please help.

Hello doctor,

I am 29 years old and I have been diagnosed with PCOS. I have a drooping bladder and I cannot take this smell. My vagina stays dry and sex is painful and hurting. I have the sex drive of an 80-year-old instead of a person in their 20’s. Also, my husband’s semen interferes with my pH balance and makes my vagina have a terrible smell.

My husband has these knot-like bumps in his groin area. They appear to be raised or badly infected hair bumps or keloids. Similar bumps are seen around his beard towards the neck area. I am trying to conceive. Is this possible? I had undergone tests for STDs and those screening tests are all normal.

I use deodorant right under my belly to try and control the irritating smell. I have also tried waxing or removing the hair in the pubic area, but nothing helps. I lose my bladder even after I just emptied it. I continue to get UTI and yeast infections.

I have a pus pocket on my tonsils that stays infected. Another issue I am having is that I am overweight for my height. And I feel extremely tired and fatigue. I have been having headaches. My memory is also slipping away. Vitamin B12 is not helping. Please help.
