Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I used Accutane from 17 to 25 years on and off, it was always good. So six months ago I tried for 12 days Accutane and I saw after two days there were appearing scars on my skin for no reason. I did not have acne. It was for my hair which was always very shiny. So I stopped of course the Accutane and did bloodwork. I had low vitamin D and positive ANA and anti-DSNA. Drugs included lupus. I went to every dermatologist to help me to stop the disease because it is still haunting me. And the scars need to be stopped. Please is there somebody who can help me?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through all the reports and the image (attachment removed to protect patient identity). I think you are correct. There is a high possibility of drug-induced effect that is Accutane-induced scarring. In addition, there is evidence of drug-induced lupus. Though the ANA profile is fine it seems initial commencement of the autoimmune process. I feel you should go to a dermatologist academic center to seek consultation. As this autoimmune process starts and fosters slowly, you need to be on follow-up take lit PC antioxidants and Curcumin. Meanwhile, stop Accutane, and also please feel free to consult me if there is a concern you have flagged in this regard.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you. I went to dermatalogist a lot but they cannot help me because they do not see the link to Accutane and drug induced lupus, but there are many people who had this same issue. What do I need to do? Can you treat me? Do I need to take Vitamin supplements or a medicine?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You need to take Vitamin C with Glutathione local application, along with it please take Vitamin C 500 mg thrice a day. If possible take Curcurmin extract.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

What will the supplements do?

Can I heal from this?

Can my skin go back to normal?

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Vitamin C is an antioxidant, and Curcurmin is anti-inflammatory.

So combination will be able to counter the autoimmune inflammation. But the results may take months. It. is also prudent to follow up with a dermatologist well-versed in autoimmune disease.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

But no dermatologist here understands the disease linked with accutane and drug-induced lupus. I went to the dermatologist, and she said that she does not know where it comes from the scars. I told her from the accutane she could not believe that. Then I went to the rheumatologist, and he said it was from the Accutane that I have drug-induced lupus, but it is a skin problem, so I need to go back to my dermatologist. So I am stuck now.

  1. Can I be your patient?
  2. Do you know how to treat this? And will my skin go back to normal?
  3. Do I need medicine?
  4. Do you have any e-mail id to connect?

Thank you.

Please send your e-mail. You could arrange a phone or video consultation. I need to speak to you to learn more about the problem.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
