What is the treatment for chronic acidity?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have been having too much acidity for a few months. Sometimes, I get a cough due to too much bile and even throat pain. Can you please prescribe me some medicine to lower it permanently? I have been taking the tablet Pan D extra.

Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Well, according to your complaints and history, it seems there is no need to prescribe over-the-counter medicines when you have been taking some of them on a daily basis. I would like to evaluate yourself regarding the cause of the situation.

  1. Does it happen often on eating something specific?
  2. Is it related to constipation?
  3. Do you have any type of breathlessness or a feeling of a lump in your throat?

Please answer the above questions and follow up for further evaluation.

Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.

Thank you.

Have a nice day.
