Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have very oily, acne-prone skin, and these days I have had these weird, tiny bumps on my chin. Before this, I was using a whitening soap, but when I stopped using that, I noticed the bumps. I do not know if it is whiteheads, but it is present a lot. It is also close together and located at the bottom of the corner of my lips. I generally have whiteheads on my chin, but these little bumps are a bit different since when I exfoliate, it does not really come off, and I can not extract them too. Please help. I do not know what to do. Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I thoroughly read your query and understand your concern.

Pimple is somewhat hormonal, and it is due to oily skin.

Following are my suggestions for your problem:

1. Do not use hair oil or sticky cream on your face.

2. Avoid oily food, chocolate, and milk products.

3. Avoid dust, and use sunscreen above 30 SPF (sun protection factor).

4. Any cream, do not rub it on the face.

5. Do not use any steroid creams.

6. Continue treatment for at least one month.

7. Facewash or soaps are not treated and are not much useful.

8. Do not touch acne and avoid pressing it.

I would suggest the following:

  • Clindamycin-containing gels like Clintop (Clindamycin), Faceclin (Clindamycin and Nicotinamide), and Clear gel (Clindamycin and Adapalene) can be used. This is more preventive and curative, so I suggest using it all over the face in the morning.
  • Adapalene gel (Adalene, Defferine). I would suggest using it over acne at night.
  • Tablet Doxycycline 100 mg once a day.

Hope this helps.

Thanks and regards.
