Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I had popped a lot of pimples on my face two to three years back, and because of that, there are a lot of holes in my cheeks. What should I use to get clear skin? Kindly suggest to me some measures to cure it. Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understand your concern. Acne scars, especially depressions on the face, are very common post-acne and may develop due to multiple factors. They are pricking the active acne (like you had mentioned), due to long-standing acne left without being treated, due to the severity of acne. The inability of your skin to produce enough collagen. Collagen helps in the normal healing of acne scars. For most individuals, collagen production would be reduced in some areas of acne, resulting in a depressive scar. You can use any of the following procedures to treat depressive scars. Acne subcision. In this procedure, the acne scars are lifted off the base, which are adhered to under the skin using a fine needle. Microdermabrasion is another procedure where microgranules are used to make an even skin texture. Laser treatments can be taken. TCA CROSS (trichloroacetic acid peels) in which TCA (Trichloroacetic acid) is applied on the depressions, and it slowly forms a wound and causes the reconstruction of acne scars, and eventually heals. Each of these procedures is done in sessions, and any of the above methods would suffice for you. I would advise you to consult a professional in person to carry out the appropriate procedure for your skin type and scar type, which would help reduce the appearance of the scars to a great level. I hope I was of help. Stay happy, healthy, and safe. Thank you.
