How long does puberty acne on the face last that resists treatment?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 20-year-old female with a weight of 110 pounds. I have had acne since puberty. I am currently using Benzac AC 2.5 % gel. I have used Deriva BPO gel previously. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Follow the below steps for your grade 3 acne. I suggest (consult with a specialist doctor, talk with him or her and take medicines with their consent) capsule Doxycycline 100 mg once daily. Apply Deriva BPO (Benzoyl Peroxide) gel on acne once at night. Avoid rubbing it. Apply Episoft AC cream as a moisturizer once in morning over the affected area. Use Ahaglow facewash. Avoid sweets, full cream milk, and chocolates. Avoid pricking the lesions. Avoid excess sun exposure. Follow up after one month.
