Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I used to have very clear, oily skin, but over the past month, I have noticed a few painful pimples with white pus resembling a nail. I consulted with doctors but did not see any improvement..The pimples have now disappeared, but dark black spots remain on my skin. I am getting married in 20 days, so I need a fast and effective cream to achieve quick results. I am using an anti-scar medicine at night. Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. I have seen your picture (picture hidden to protect the identity of the patient). Acne is a chronic problem, it has a variable course with medication and requires regular follow-up and long treatment. It usually occurs up to the age of 25 to 28 years or maybe more than this. Once the acne lesions heal they leave acne scars but these acne scars heal with post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) for a short duration in light skin individuals, but in darker individuals, these PIH persist for a longer term may be for two to three weeks, but this duration can be curtailed by using depigmenting cream and sunscreen. I suggest you use a depigmentation cream or gel Adapalene 0.1% every night, and apply a non-comedogenic sunscreen with SPF 50+ in the morning after bathing. Remember to reapply the sunscreen once every four hours. In addition to these measures, it is important to make certain dietary restrictions, such as avoiding oily, spicy, junk food, milk products, and non-vegetarian foods. Stay hydrated by consuming plenty of water, as it helps hydrate your skin. Continue to apply the anti-scar medicine for six weeks.

I hope this helps you.

Regards
