Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have small, uninflamed bumps on my cheeks and forehead area. My skin is not dry, but it is oily. The bumps are skin colored and uneven, and there are raised patches. I also have a big bump on my chest which is hard, and I have been having it for more than two years now. Once, blood oozed out when I popped it. It does not increase in size and does not cause any symptoms. My dermatologist has injected it twice. I took Accutane a year back. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

We are elated to have you onboard at icliniq.com.

I have seen your query and I can understand your concern.

From the picture (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity), that you have shared, it seems that you have acneiform eruptions over your face and keloid or acne keloidalis over your chest. Various cosmetic ingredients like Lanolin and its derivatives, detergents, and dyes are known to cause acne-like lesions. I suggest you use 3.5 % Benzoyl peroxide (Microbenz) gel daily at night after consulting with your general practitioner.

For keloid, you can try local injections of Triamcinolone acetonide (Kenacort) 40 mg/ml over the affected area or intralesional intradermal injection (0.1 ml/cm2) once in three weeks. But, this should be administered only by a dermatologist. It usually requires two to three sittings depending on the response.

I hope this helps. Do get back if you have any further queries.

Thank you.
