Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am an 18-year-old male, and I have been getting acne. I have no idea what to do. I have done everything, including cleaning my face at least three to four times every day. I am spending a lot of time outside, and I am wondering whether that is a problem. Could you please assist me?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Pimples are caused by oily skin and are partly hormonal. Here are some of the practices I suggest you follow. Avoid applying hair oil or other sticky cream on your face. Avoid fatty foods, chocolate, and dairy items. Avoid dust and wear sunscreen with an SPF (sun protection factor) of at least 30. Do not apply any cream to your face. Steroid creams should not be used. Continue treatments for at least one month. Face wash or soaps are not a therapy and are ineffective. Avoid touching or rubbing acne. For therapy, I recommend Clindamycin gel, it is more preventative and curative, Therefore I recommend that patients use it all over their face in the morning. I suggest using Adapalene gel for acne at night. I suggest you take a tablet of Doxycycline (antibiotic), 100 mg once a day.

Thank you
