Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have noticeable big red spots that keep appearing on my face. They are not pimples because you cannot pop them, and they do not get the white tip. I picked one of them, and it bled and then scabbed, which made going out even worse. I have not put on makeup or used anything to cleanse my face. I had these red bumps on my chin, but they rarely showed. Please help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read the query, and I can understand your concern.

It seems you have acne vulgaris based on your descriptions and pictures (attachment removed to protect the patient’s identity). Acne vulgaris is a common skin problem in adolescents and adults. It involves pilosebaceous follicles or oil glands and includes areas where oil glands are dense, like the face, chest, back, and upper arms are common sites of involvement. Your case looks like grade 1 or 2 acne. You can start using Faceclin gel (Clindamycin Topical 1% w/w and Nicotinamide 4% w/w) during the time over pimples. Microbenz 3.5% Gel (Benzoyl Peroxide) at night hour over the whole face for around two to three months. For cleaning your face, you can use mild face wash twice daily. Consult a specialist doctor, talk to them, and then take the medication. You must follow certain dietary restrictions, like not eating oily spicy food, junk food, milk products, and non-vegetarian foods. Use lots of water which hydrates your skin.

I hope this will help you.

Thank you.
