Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been struggling with my skin for quite a bit. For my whole life, I have always had clear skin until I got to college. Now I am struggling with white heads, black scars all over my forehead, and bumps all over my cheeks. It looks awful and I am unsure what is happening. I have tried going off dairy, sleeping better, and different moisturizing treatments. The results fluctuate and I am unsure what my skin is trying to tell me. Please help

Thank you.

Hi,

I appreciate that you have chosen icliniq.com for your medical needs.

I am here to give you the best care possible.

I have understood your concern and examined your picture (attachments removed to protect patient identity). Acne vulgaris is a common skin problem among adolescents and young adults. It involves pilosebaceous follicles or oil glands and therefore is seen to involve areas where oil glands are dense like the face, chest, back, and upper arms are common sites of involvement. In your case, it looks like grade 1 to grade 2 acne. You can start using Faceclin gel (Clindamycin 1 percent w/w, Nicotinamide 4 percent w/w) during the daytime over the pimples and Microbenz 3.5% gel (Benzoyl peroxide 3.5 percent w/w) in the night hours over the whole face for around two to three months. Consult your doctor and take the medicines accordingly. Do not use any hair oil as it will aggravate acne on your forehead. You can use Facecare face wash twice daily to clean your face. Maintain dietary restrictions like avoiding oily and spicy food, junk food, milk products, and non-vegetarian food. Drink adequate water to keep your skin hydrated.

I hope this information will help you. Please revert in case of further queries.

Thank you.
