Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had severe acne on my face and consulted a dermatologist. He suggested I use a BPO gel, take Zit 20 mg capsules, use Djreal face serum, and Medfoam face wash. I have been using these medications for the last 1 week but now I feel a burning sensation after the application of BPO gel and serum on my face. There is redness and I experience dry skin. Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I appreciate that you have chosen icliniq for your medical needs. I am here to give you the best care possible.

Kindly send a photograph of your present condition for proper assessment. Taking all these medicines together can lead to severe skin peeling which is the cause of your burning sensation. I suggest you stop using the benzoyl peroxide (BPO) gel for now. Apply white soft paraffin (Excela moisturizer) about four to five times a day. Do not wash your face with facewash for now. Use only plain water. Let the burning sensation settle down and then we will decide on how to continue using the previously prescribed medications. Kindly follow up after five days.

I hope this helps. Do get back if you have any further queries.

Thank you.
