Patient's Query

Hello,

I am an 18-year-old female. I have been experiencing itching on my scalp for two to three weeks on my neck and upper back. I have also noticed two red lump-like spots on my upper back that hurt when I press them. I am concerned that it is a serious issue. Kindly suggest.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

Various side effects include allergies, skin infections, or certain skin conditions on the scalp, neck, and upper back. The red spots which are painful under pressure may indicate infection or inflammation causing acne. I would like to know if you have had any recent changes in your diet routine or skin and hair care products. I suggest you follow the below-mentioned instructions.

  1. Keep Your Skin Clean and Moisturized: Use fragrance-free cleansers to avoid dry skin, as dry skin can irritate.
  2. Avoid Scratching: While it can be difficult, try to resist scratching as it can be very irritating to your skin and can make any infection or inflammation worse.
  3. Apply Cold Compresses:Applying cold compresses to sensitive areas helps to soothe the skin and reduce pain.
  4. Wear Soft Clothes With Breathable Fabrics: Avoid tight clothes that are more irritating to your skin.
  5. Use an over-the-counter antifungal (Clotrimazole) cream.
  6. Kindly consult a specialist, talk to them, and take the medications with their consent.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.
