Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a lot of pimples. Can you suggest any medications or face wash to reduce them?

Answered by Dr. Suvash Sahu

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have seen your query and concern and examined your pic (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). Acne vulgaris is a common skin problem in adolescents and in adulthood it involves pilosebaceous follicles or oil glands and is therefore seen to involve areas where oil glands are dense like the face, chest, back, and upper arms are common sites of involvement. In your case looks like grade 2 to grade 3 acne. You can start using Faceclin gel [Clindamycin Topical (1 % w/w) and Nicotinamide(4% w/w)] during day time over pimples and Microbenz (Benzoyl Peroxide) 3.5% gel at night hour over whole face for around two to three months plus take capsule Doxycycline (Hypromellose and Magnesium stearate) 100 mg once daily for one month after consulting your general practitioner or nearby dermatologist. For cleaning your face you can use facecare face wash twice daily. You have to follow certain dietary restrictions like not taking oily spicy food, junk food, milk products, and non-vegetarian foods and using lots of water which hydrates your skin. I hope this helps you.

Thank you.
