Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I used acne wash on my face and the first two days it was okay but after three to four days I noticed the skin under my bottom lip started to itch terribly. I would constantly rub it and there was no relief. I used aloe vera gel on it but it did not seem to help. After rubbing constantly it started to turn the skin dark. I eventually got some Vaseline and Benadryl and the itching just instantly stopped but to this day about five to six months later the skin under my bottom lip is still dark. I have switched to the Simple skincare line and it has benefited my skin. I do use a scrub and mask twice a week but nothing seems to be helping. Could you please help me to at least lessen the appearance of the darkness? I have lost my self-confidence because of this chemical burn so I would be so grateful if you could help me out.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com

I understand your concern. Well for now on chemical burn use ointment Fucibet twice in a day. Use Cetaphil moisturizing lotion twice or thrice a day over the face in the future for acne follow this procedure. Pimple is somewhat hormonal and due to oily skin

1. Do not use hair oil and any sticky cream on your face.

2. avoid oily food, chocolate, and milk products.

3. Avoid dust, use sunscreen( above 30 SPF).

4. Any cream do not rub it on the face.

5. Do not use any steroid creams.

6. Continue treatment for atleast one month.

7. Facewash or soap is not a treatment and is not much used in full.

8. Do not touch acne and avoid pressing it.

For treatment:

1. Clindamycin ( Clintop, Faceclin, Clear gel) - this is more preventive and curative so I tell patients to use it all over the face in the morning

2. Adapalene gel (Adapalene, Defferine,)– I tell to use it over acne in the night.

3. Tablet doxy 100 mg once a day.

I hope this helps. Feel free to contact back for more queries.

Thank you.
