What could cause rashes on the face?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a rash on my face. It has been there for a month and does not itch. It is almost the size of a quarter. Currently, I am on Adderall.

Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your case. Right now you are having acneiform eruption (attachment removed to protect patient identity) which is one of several types of acne and sometimes food and stress aggravate such lesions. My advice to you is to apply Clindamycin gel two times daily only on the affected area. Drink plenty of water and juices. Avoid applying any moisturizers.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

I have looked up acneiform on internet and this does not look like any of the images. Could it be something else?

Please help.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I appreciate your curiosity for your lesions. I have attached a file for you to have a very close view of lesions and these are obviously not exactly like yours but resembles a lot, and the reason behind this is that there is always patients to patients variation. Please closely observe chin of the patient in the picture. Your lesion is not too erythematous. Have trust and start treatment. Hopefully, you will be fine. One more thing, avoid excoriation with fingernails as some patients are habitual of doing so. Just relax. Remember good things take some time.

Thank you.
