How do I overcome the signs of aging like dark circles, puffiness, oily skin, and blackheads?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have aging signs, dark circles, and puffiness. I am worried about my skin condition. I have oily skin and a blackhead, also. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. As per the history and image provided (the attachments are removed to protect the patient's identity), the presence of aging skin is due to the loss of skin elasticity, which appears as a result of a lack of collagen appearing over time and are aggravated due to stress, genetic factors, hormonal changes, worry, imbalanced diet, inadequate water intake, and other medical conditions. Dark circles or periorbital melanosis and puffiness of the eyes are also a result of the above factors commonly. In addition, sleep deprivation, straining of eyes, computer or mobile light exposures, stress, and genetic factors contribute to the formation of dark circles under the eyes. I suggest AHA glow face wash (Glycolic acid, aloe vera, and Citric acid) for skin rejuvenation to be used twice daily, apply, massage in gently circular motions, and wash off within one minute. Dermaco vitamin C 10% serum (vitamin C, Niacinamide, Ferulic acid, and Hyaluronic acid) to be applied on the face and under the eyes. Take five drops, rub between palms, and apply on the face and under the eyes twice daily after face wash. Use Lusana eye cream (Bisabolol, Centella asiatica extract, Niacinamide, Panthenol, Raffinose) for under eyes twice daily. Apply three to four dots under the eyes and dab them into the under-eye skin. Use Facemoist cream for the face to keep the face hydrated. The single pump may be used at night after serum application. Wait for a minute for the serum to absorb before applying the cream. Sunstop gold sunscreen gel SPF (sun protection factor) 50 to be used every two hours from 9 AM to 5 PM since sunscreen effects go off every two hours. May apply on top of the previous layer, and washing each time before the application is not required. Chemical peel for the face is a procedure that may be done for skin rejuvenation to reduce blackheads, texture, and dark circles of skin, which are done in sessions of at least six every two weeks to one month. Kindly consult a dermatologist in person for the procedure. Other laser therapies, thread lifting, and PRP (platelet-rich plasma) procedures are also available for helping with reducing dark circles and helping with aging signs. Skin changes occur over time, and consistency with the above skincare routine is vital to benefit the skin. I hope you find it helpful. Kind regards.
